Weight Loss Success Stories
My life was very normal — I was a freshman in college before I started the program so I was always busy and spent a lot of time studying and with friends. I never really thought about what I ate before I came to see Dr. Cederquist because, I like I said, I’m in college, and that is typically the last thing you think about, especially when you’re with your friends.
The most surprising part is definitely the fact that you can actually lose the weight with a little bit of effort. I always thought that something was wrong with my body because I could never lose weight before but now I know that simply changing your diet makes the biggest difference. Although exercising is necessary throughout the process, realizing that changing your meal plan is what makes the biggest difference was definitely surprising to me.
The most challenging part was definitely avoiding sweets. But I’ve learned that I’m stronger than I thought I was; I have self-control and have learned many nutritional facts from my dietitian along the way. I’ve learned that food is something we need to survive and each thing that we decide to eat eventually has a consequence. If you feed your body well, you will receive good results and you will feel great.
So far I’ve lost 32 pounds and it took me a little less than four and a half months.
My life is so much different now because I make healthy choices before I eat each meal. I’m healthier, happier and much more energetic. Although I was a very happy person before my weight loss, I believe that my passion for life has become much greater after this process. I feel better and am even more motivated to continue losing weight by seeing results each week.
I feel like the hardest part of the program is over now. Transitioning into the new meal plan and avoiding sweets, starches and carbohydrates was difficult at first but it has gotten so much easier. I don’t feel like the program is hard to continue at all at this point — this has become a lifestyle change for me, not a diet.
My biggest motivation to continue staying healthy is my future. I have so many things to look forward to and I want to be able to experience them all, while staying healthy and happy along the way. I am my biggest motivation.
I would tell anyone who is trying to lose weight that it is definitely the best decision that you can make in your life. Life is a gift and each and every person should try their best to live it to the fullest. By maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle, you will be so much happier in the long run and you can truly enjoy each day knowing that you are healthy. It’s truly a wonderful feeling.
